Three villages, three wells, one very long week. Our drill team hit clean water at forty metres in the first village and the whole place erupted — singing, dancing, and a queue of jerrycans before the pump was even bolted down.
Each well now serves around four hundred people, and a trained village crew holds the spare parts and the toolkit. Girls who walked four hours a day are back in class by eight.
“Come and see it yourself — the kettle is always on at the depot, and the vans leave every Saturday.”
